Wire EDM is a well-known unique process of machining. It began with a need to make electrodes for RAM type EDMs. Since then it evolved into a method of making dies for the tool & die industry. Essentially it is an electrically charged unspooling wire that melts the work piece on top of a computer controlled table.
We use our EDMs to make our products as well as customer’s products.
Some examples include:
- Punch and Die making
- Jigs and Fixtures
- Carbide form tools (lathe, Screw mach.)
- Tool Holders
- Substitution for jig grinding (thru holes)
- Substitution for form grinding
- Broach blades for the lock industry
- Ideal for cutting test specimens
- Prototyping
