Wire EDM

Wire EDM is a well-known unique process of machining. It began with a need to make electrodes for RAM type EDMs. Since then it evolved into a method of making dies for the tool & die industry. Essentially it is an electrically charged unspooling wire that melts the work piece on top of a computer controlled table.

We use our EDMs to make our products as well as customer’s products.

Some examples include:

  • Punch and Die making
  • Jigs and Fixtures
  • Carbide form tools (lathe, Screw mach.)
  • Tool Holders
  • Substitution for jig grinding  (thru holes)
  • Substitution for form grinding
  • Broach blades for the lock industry
  • Ideal for cutting test specimens
  • Prototyping
